Man charged with DUI-drug after incident at NVRH in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — A Barnet man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs after police responded to a report of a man rolling in the snow at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital’s parking lot on April 4.

At around 3:16 p.m., authorities were dispatched to the scene where they found Joshua Benjamin, 43, of Barnet, refusing medical attention from Calex ambulance personnel.

An investigation determined that Benjamin had been operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs.

Benjamin was taken into custody and transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks for processing.

Following his release, he was issued a citation to appear at the Caledonia Superior Court – Criminal Division on June 3 at 8:30 a.m.
