MILO — Chief Clukey of the Milo Police Department responded to a call Wednesday morning about an unconscious male behind the wheel of his vehicle on Elm Street.

Upon arrival at approximately 7:14 a.m., Chief Clukey discovered the car in the travel lane with the operator, identified as Emilio Fontanez Jr., 61, of Yonkers, New York, asleep with the vehicle in gear and his foot on the brake.

After securing the vehicle, Clukey woke Fontanez, who appeared disoriented and claimed he was at home.

During the investigation, Clukey observed several small pieces of tin foil in the front area of the vehicle, which are often used for drugs.

After Fontanez was cleared by EMS, he was arrested and charged with Criminal Operating Under the Influence (OUI).

Further examination revealed Fontanez to be in possession of $4,950 in cash and 32 individual wax paper envelopes, each containing heroin, with a total weight of approximately 3.2 grams.

Fontanez now faces additional charges for Illegal Trafficking of Schedule W drugs.

The Milo Police Department is handling the ongoing investigation.
