EAST MILLINOCKET — A traffic disturbance led to the arrest of a Medway man Saturday night after police found him passed out in his vehicle at an intersection.

According to the East Millinocket Police Department, Officer Scelso received a report around 8:30 p.m. of a vehicle obstructing traffic with the driver unconscious behind the wheel.

Upon arriving at the scene, Scelso discovered 61-year-old Ted Fiske of Medway asleep in the driver’s seat.

Fiske regained consciousness after Scelso’s intervention and displayed signs of being under the influence.

A field investigation ensued, resulting in Fiske’s arrest for Operating Under the Influence (OUI).

During a search of Fiske’s vehicle, officers discovered over 25 grams of a substance suspected to be fentanyl.

Sgt. Clayton conducted a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) evaluation, which concluded that Fiske was indeed impaired by drugs.

Fiske was taken into custody and transported to Penobscot County Jail, where he faces charges for OUI of Drugs and Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs.
