Montpelier woman arrested for DUI after hit-and-run

MONTPELIER — A 30-year-old Montpelier woman was taken into custody late Thursday night for suspected driving under the influence following a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 89.

Vermont State Police responded to a report of a collision at I-89 southbound Exit 8 at approximately 11:15 p.m.

The complainant pursued the vehicle, which did not stop after the incident, leading to a Cumberland Farms on Berlin Street in Montpelier.

Upon arrival, troopers found two damaged vehicles in the convenience store’s parking lot, corroborating the complainant’s account.

During the interaction with the driver, identified as Katelyn Valli, troopers noted signs of impairment.

Valli was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was taken to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

She refused to submit to a DUI test and was subsequently issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division on charges related to the incident.

Valli was released pending her court appearance.
