MEXICO — A Silver Alert has been activated by the Mexico Police Department for Edward Fontaine, 71, who has been missing since Wednesday afternoon.

Fontaine, who has cognitive issues, was last seen around 2 p.m. on April 3, departing his residence on Penley Street.

His absence has raised concerns as it is out of character for him not to return home.

Described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds, Fontaine has gray hair and brown eyes.

He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and brown pants when he was last seen.

Fontaine is believed to be driving a 2014 red Ford Edge with the Maine registration 768VE.

The Maine State Police and local authorities are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to immediately contact the Oxford Regional Communications Center at 207-743-9554, selecting option 0.
