Medford parking kiosks vandalized again

1 min read

MEDFORD — In a repeat incident within a month, five parking kiosks on Boston Avenue and one in the Winthrop Street Lot have been vandalized, prompting an investigation by the city and the Medford Police Department.

Authorities responded to reports of the damaged kiosks early Monday morning, finding the machines, which facilitate parking payments, defaced and inoperable.

The city emphasized that such vandalism is not only illegal but also costly to repair.

Officials also noted that destruction of these kiosks does not eliminate the requirement or enforcement of parking fees but serves only to inconvenience residents and visitors who need to make payments.

The Medford Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the individuals responsible for the vandalism.

Community members are urged to report any suspicious activity or information related to the destruction of property to the police by calling 781-393-6404.
