Juvenile charged with negligent operation, leaving scene of accident in Grafton

GRAFTON — A 17-year-old from Grafton has been charged with negligent operation and leaving the scene of an accident following a collision that occurred at the intersection of School Street and Westminster Heights Road.

The Windham County Sheriff’s Office, along with Westminster Fire & Rescue and Golden Cross Ambulance, responded to the incident on March 25 at 9:59 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a heavily damaged 2021 Toyota Rav-4 with full airbag deployment.

The vehicle had been struck by a pickup truck that had continued north on Westminster Heights Road after the crash.

Lt. Joel R. Howard of the Windham County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation, which resulted in the arrest of the juvenile who was operating the truck.

The name of the juvenile has not been released due to their age.

The juvenile was issued a citation to appear in Windham Superior Court, Family Division, on a date that has been withheld.
