ST. JOHNSBURY — A local man was arrested Saturday afternoon for allegedly violating a court-ordered condition of release by contacting and harassing another resident.

At around 5 p.m., troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to a complaint on Fourth Street regarding threatening behavior.

The investigation concluded that Alexander Sargent, 40, of St. Johnsbury, breached an active court order by continuing to contact Christopher Fuller, 48, also of St. Johnsbury.

Sargent was taken into custody and processed at the St. Johnsbury Barracks.

He was later released with a citation to appear in court on a future date to answer to the charge of violating the conditions of his release.
