KENNEBUNK — Several motor vehicle burglaries and one vehicle theft have been reported in the York Street area, according to the Kennebunk Police Department.

The incidents are believed to have occurred overnight, with each targeted vehicle left unlocked.

Authorities are reminding residents to take a moment to lock their vehicles to prevent these crimes.

The Kennebunk Police Department emphasized the importance of security measures, stating, “It only takes one second to help safeguard your vehicle and property.”

In addition to locking vehicles, officials advise against leaving money, car keys, or other valuables inside unattended cars. “Don’t make things easy for a burglar,” the police warned.

The department is currently investigating the thefts and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
