St. Johnsbury man in stable condition after early morning stabbing

ST. JOHNSBURY — A 32-year-old local man is in stable condition after a stabbing incident that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.

The Vermont State Police reported to the scene on Avenue A near New Boston Road just after 3:20 a.m. where they found the victim with multiple stab wounds.

The injured man was initially taken to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital before being transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, for further treatment.

Authorities have not made any arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.

Detectives are treating the stabbing as an isolated event and believe there is no ongoing danger to the community.

The identity of the victim is being withheld as investigations continue and family members are notified.
