Richford man arrested for vandalism, violating release conditions

RICHFORD — A local man was arrested late Thursday night after allegedly vandalizing an apartment and breaching his release conditions.

Vermont State Police responded to a call at approximately 10:55 p.m. on March 22, reporting that a male was damaging an apartment on River Street.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered broken windows and a damaged door.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Austin Robtoy of Richford, was apprehended on foot near the scene.

An investigation confirmed that Robtoy was responsible for the property damage and that he had consumed alcohol, in violation of his conditions of release.

Robtoy was taken into custody without incident and processed at the St. Albans Barracks of the Vermont State Police.

He was later released on citation and is scheduled for arraignment at the Vermont Superior Court – Franklin Criminal Division on April 22 at 8:30 a.m.
