Search underway for missing Lunenburg man last seen near Connecticut River

LUNENBURG — On March 18, the Essex County Sheriff’s Department initiated an investigation into the disappearance of 52-year-old Russell Matheson of Lunenburg, after receiving reports that he was potentially missing.

Matheson was last believed to be near the Connecticut River in the early hours of March 16. Following this lead, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Search and Rescue Team commenced a search operation along the river on March 19.

Despite extensive efforts, Matheson has not yet been located, and concerns for his safety are growing.

Details surrounding Matheson’s disappearance remain vague, and the Essex County Sheriff’s Department is actively seeking information from the public.
