ESSEX — A string of vandalism incidents in Essex and Essex Junction involving windows shot out with marbles came to an end with the arrest of 28-year-old Dylan King-Richer on March 17.

The Essex Police Department reported eleven separate acts of vandalism across the town and city over an eight-day period starting March 8, with the last incident occurring on March 16.

The vandalism spree targeted a school, commercial buildings, and residential properties, causing damage in the thousands of dollars.

During their investigation, the Essex Police discovered that multiple law enforcement agencies in Chittenden County were looking into similar cases.

Through collaborative efforts, a suspect vehicle was identified.

A victim’s tip led officers to the suspect vehicle at a local business on March 17.

Essex officers found King-Richer at the scene and, upon searching the vehicle, located evidence linking him to the vandalisms.

King-Richer was arrested and charged with Felony Unlawful Mischief.

He was processed at the Essex Police Department and later released on court conditions as per Judge Shafritz’s orders.

He received a flash citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court-Criminal Division on March 18, but the arraignment has been postponed to allow further investigation.

King-Richer will appear in court at a later date.
