ESSEX — On March 16, at 9:49 p.m., Essex Police, along with Essex Town Fire and Richmond Rescue, responded to a report of a vehicle collision on Greenfield Road.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a black 2019 Audi SQ5 that had crashed into a parked red 2017 Lincoln MKC in a driveway.

The initial investigation indicated the Audi was traveling at a high speed, well over the 25 mph limit, and failed to navigate a curve, resulting in the driver losing control, crossing a lawn, and hitting the Lincoln.

The crash caused significant damage to both vehicles and nearby property, but no injuries were reported.

The driver, an 18-year-old from Underhill, was arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence and taken to the Essex Police Department for processing.

He was later released with a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court-Criminal Division on April 4.

The incident is still under investigation, and Essex Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
