Northfield man killed in I-93 rollover crash

NORTHFIELD — A single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 93 south claimed the life of a Northfield man on March 16, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Troopers from Troop D barracks were called to the scene near Northfield at approximately 10:11 a.m. following a report of a crash.

Upon arrival, they found a vehicle that had rolled over multiple times before coming to a stop on its side.

The driver, identified as Jeff Aalto, 52, of Tilton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Aalto’s vehicle had veered off the left side of the road, leading to the rollover.

The crash led to the closure of the high-speed lane on the interstate for several hours while the investigation was conducted.

No other vehicles were involved, and no further injuries were reported.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the accident and all possible contributing factors.
