MENDON — A two-vehicle crash occurred on March 11, near Vermont Gift & Garden on US RT 4, resulting in moderate damage to both vehicles involved, but no injuries, according to the Vermont State Police.

The accident took place in the afternoon at approximately 2:43 p.m. while snowfall created slippery road conditions.

Robert Collins, 40, of Lockwood, New York, was driving a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek westbound with passenger Steven Dickerman, 58, also from New York.

Simultaneously, Joshua Peffer, 29, of Mendon, was also heading west attempting to turn left when Collins, who was behind Peffer, tried to brake but lost control of his vehicle due to the snow-covered road.

Collins’ vehicle slid and spun before colliding with the rear left corner of Peffer’s Crosstrek, which was the same make, model, and year as Collins’.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, and despite the snowy conditions and collision, neither driver nor the passenger reported any injuries.

State troopers who investigated the scene did not report any traffic disruptions or need for hospitalization.

Both vehicles incurred moderate damage, primarily to their rear left corners and rear bumpers.
