NCUHS snowboarders finish second at 2024 championships

NEWPORT — The North Country Union High School (NCUHS) Boys and Girls Snowboarding teams both secured second place overall at the 2024 Snowboarding Championships held at Jay Peak on Wednesday, March 6, despite challenging weather conditions.

Willow Clements led the girls’ team, winning the overall title in Slopestyle. The girls’ team took first place in Slopestyle, second in Rail Jam, and third in the Giant Slalom (GS).

In the girls’ individual events, Dakotah Bowen finished second in Slopestyle and sixth in GS, while Aine Remmer placed 12th in Slopestyle and 13th in GS. Ella Dillon finished 13th in Slopestyle. In the Rail Jam, Willow Clements took third, and Dakotah Bowen finished seventh.

The boys’ team also had a strong showing, finishing second in both Slopestyle and GS. In the individual events, Elliot Goff placed ninth in Slopestyle and fourth in GS, while Quinn Goff finished eighth in Slopestyle and seventh in GS.

Harvest Cornelius-Bouchard placed 15th in Slopestyle, and Logan Ellis finished eighth in the Rail Jam.
