Fugitive from justice arrested in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — A local man was arrested on March 6 after police discovered he had an outstanding warrant from New Mexico.

Brian A. Kempton, 46, of St. Johnsbury, was taken into custody at 8 p.m. while officers were investigating another incident at 72 Maple Street.

During the course of their investigation, police found that Kempton had an extraditable warrant from New Mexico.

He was arrested and subsequently lodged at Northeast Correctional Complex for lack of $1,000 bail.
