Derby endorses budget proposals, Brainard wins Selectboard seat

DERBY –– Lindsay Brainard emerged victorious in the recent Derby Selectboard election, winning a two-year term over Gwen Bailey-Rowe with a vote count of 459 to 330. This election followed Karen Chitambar’s decision not to seek reelection.

Brainard has past work experience in operations and general management as well as prior experience as a Trustee for the Village of Derby Line.

Brad Shattuck, running unopposed, secured another three-year term on the Selectboard.

In the Town Meeting, voters demonstrated strong support for various financial measures. The town’s budget of $3,021,646 was approved without opposition.

Additional expenditures outside the budget, including $200,000 for road rebuilding and $20,985 for cemetery maintenance, received voter approval.
