Woman arrested after attempted fraudulent check cashing at Grafton bank

GRAFTON — Karen A. Brunelle, 47, of Worcester, was arrested on Tuesday, March 5 after allegedly attempting to cash a fraudulent check at the drive-thru window of Homefield Credit Union.

Brunelle initially fled from police but was apprehended on Shrewsbury Street.

She faces multiple charges, including forgery, identity fraud, attempted larceny, receiving stolen property, drug possession, and traffic violations.

The arrest came after alert bank staff recognized the suspicious activity and immediately called police.
