St. Johnsbury woman charged with petit larceny for using found debit card

ST. JOHNSBURY — A local woman was charged with petit larceny after allegedly picking up a debit card outside a residence and using it to make several unauthorized purchases.

Authorities said Jessica Webb, 47, of St. Johnsbury, was identified as the suspect in the petty theft that occurred on Feb. 23.

The incident was initially reported at about 11:23 p.m. when a resident notified police of a missing debit card that was later used to make purchases at area stores.

Security footage from the Lafayette Street residence showed a female accompanied by two males walking past the home.

The video captured the woman, later identified as Webb, picking up the debit card.

Webb, who has had previous encounters with law enforcement, was recognized by authorities.

Charges were filed against Webb following the investigation.

She is expected to face the charges in court, where the date will be set for a hearing.
