Driver cited for excessive speeding in Rockingham

ROCKINGHAM — A Connecticut man was arrested Monday after being clocked driving 32 mph over the speed limit on Rockingham Road, authorities said.

Keith M. Prior, 26, of Clinton, Connecticut, was stopped by the Windham County Sheriff’s Office for traveling at a speed of 82 mph in a 50 mph zone, according to Sgt. Norton of the Sheriff’s Office.

The traffic stop occurred on VT Route 103, managed by the Vermont Agency of Transportation.

Norton, who was in charge of the investigation, identified the accused and administered the arrest.

Prior was released at the scene with a citation to appear in Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division, on a later date.

Along with the citation, he received a traffic ticket for the civil speeding violation.

The Windham County Sheriff’s Office continues to remind drivers to adhere to posted speed limits to ensure safety for all road users.
