Thetford woman arrested on aggravated domestic assault charge

THETFORD — A Thetford woman was arrested for aggravated domestic assault after allegedly strangling and punching a victim, authorities said.

The Thetford Police Department reported that on Feb. 16, they were informed of an assault that took place on Feb. 11 involving 46-year-old Jennifer Stralka.

According to the police, the Vermont State Police initially responded to the incident at the residence where they found Stralka intoxicated with a .223 blood alcohol content.

Stralka was subsequently transported to the Northeast Correctional Complex due to her high level of intoxication.

The Thetford Police took over the investigation and gathered additional details about the assault.

On Feb. 21, Stralka was taken into custody and appeared at the Orange County Superior Court to face the charge of aggravated domestic assault.

The court released her with conditions pending further legal proceedings.

The Thetford Police Department did not release the identity of the victim or any further details about the incident.
