St. Johnsbury man charged with aggravated assault

ST. JOHNSBURY — State Police responded to a report of an assault on Fourth Street on Feb. 21 at about 3:34 p.m., where they found that a local altercation had escalated to violence.

Authorities say Alexander Sargent, 40, of St. Johnsbury, struck Christopher Fuller, 48, also from St. Johnsbury, in the arm with a wooden stick.

The assault resulted in bodily injury to Fuller.

Sargent was taken into custody without further incident and was transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

Following his arrest, Sargent was released with a citation to appear at the Caledonia Superior Court – Criminal Division to face charges for aggravated assault.
