BOSTON — Officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) took Calvin Feeney, 24, of Douglas, into custody on Saturday morning after an attempted break-in in the city’s Cooper and Lynn Street area.

At approximately 7 a.m., police responded to a call about an individual climbing a fire escape ladder.

Boston Police Operations relayed a description of the suspect, dressed entirely in black with a ski mask.

Feeney was spotted by officers on the fire escape on Thatcher Street’s side of a building.

When officers commanded Feeney to descend the fire escape, he initially complied before attempting to flee back up the ladder.

Informed that the fire escape led to another street, officers observed Feeney jumping down and gave chase on foot, eventually apprehending and handcuffing him.

Feeney faces charges of attempting to commit a crime, specifically breaking and entering during the daytime, as well as disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.

He is set to be arraigned at Boston Municipal Court.
