NCUHS girls basketball team extends winning streak to 12 with dominant victory over U-32

NEWPORT — The varsity girls basketball team continued their impressive run Thursday night, securing their 12th consecutive victory with a commanding 70-35 win against U-32.

Demonstrating remarkable shooting accuracy, the team sank eight 3-pointers and successfully made 13 of 17 free-throw attempts.

Sabine Brueck shined on the court with a game-high 23 points, while teammates Maya Auger and Reeve Applegate each contributed 8 points to the win.

The victory strengthens the team’s record to 14-1 as they prepare to face Lyndon Institute, who currently stand at 12-2, in an anticipated match-up on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

In parallel success, the JV girls basketball team also emerged victorious, defeating their opponents 44-28.

Grace Lombardi led the scoring with 10 points, closely followed by Danika Phillabaum with 9 points.
