St. Johnsbury man charged in hit-and-run, driving with suspended license

ST. JOHNSBURY — A local man turned himself in after fleeing the scene of a car crash early Wednesday morning, police said.

At 8:11 a.m., St. Johnsbury Police responded to a collision at the intersection of Portland Street and Railroad Street.

According to authorities, one driver stayed with their vehicle, while the other, later identified as Patrick Salisbury, 32, of St. Johnsbury, fled the scene.

Following an investigation, police found the suspect’s vehicle at 450 Portland Street.

Salisbury surrendered at the St. Johnsbury Police Department later that morning.

He was cited to appear in court on March 25 to face charges of driving with a criminally suspended license and leaving the scene of a crash.

No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were able to leave the scene under their own power.
