Bernardston police seize illegal firearms, resident faces multiple charges

BERNARDSTON — Following a thorough investigation into unlawful firearm possession, officers from the Bernardston Police Department, alongside the Gill Police Department, executed a search warrant on Thursday, resulting in the seizure of two firearms and ammunition from a local residence.

Officer Chabot, with assistance from Officer Zukowski and Gill Police Department Chief Redmond, located the weapons, leading to multiple charges against the resident.

The individual, who has not been named, is facing two counts of possession of a firearm without a License to Carry (LTC), one count of possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification Card (FID) or LTC, two counts of improper storage of a firearm, among other charges.

The Bernardston Police Department has stated that the investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as the case develops.

The successful operation underscores the ongoing commitment by local law enforcement to address illegal weapon possession and ensure community safety.
