NCUHS boys basketball dominates Peoples Academy with 74-27 victory

NEWPORT — Varsity boys basketball improved to 11-4 on the season after a commanding 74-27 win over Peoples Academy on Friday night.

Haidin Chilafoux and Watson Laffoon led the charge, each netting 17 points, with Laffoon sinking five 3-pointers. Hayden Boivin contributed 12 points, while Jason Pelletier and Brayden Pepin added 10 and 9 points, respectively.

The team’s next challenge comes Wednesday, Feb. 7, when they host Hazen. The games are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

In the junior varsity matchup, the boys secured a solid 58-24 win.

Kamryn Huntington stood out with 18 points, followed by Kasen Goulet’s 12 points. Alex Lancaster rounded out the scoring with 8 points, ensuring a strong performance by the JV team.
