Bernardston police seize firearms, ammunition in search, resident faces charges

BERNARDSTON — Following an intensive investigation into illegal firearm possession, officers from Bernardston Police Department, assisted by Gill Massachusetts Police Department, executed a search warrant on Thursday, leading to the discovery of two firearms and ammunition at a local residence.

Officer Chabot, with the assistance of Officer Zukowski and Gill Police Chief Redmond, carried out the search that resulted in the seizure.

The resident, whose identity has not been released pending formal charges, is expected to face multiple violations.

The charges against the individual include two counts of possession of a firearm without a License to Carry (LTC), possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification (FID) or LTC, and two counts of improper storage of a firearm, among other charges.

Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to be released as the case progresses.

The Bernardston Police Department has reiterated its commitment to enforcing gun laws and ensuring public safety within the community.
