Mansfield hit-and-run leaves one injured, police seek blue Honda Civic

MANSFIELD — A vehicle ran a red light early this morning, causing a crash that left one person with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Mansfield police.

The collision occurred at 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of Chauncy St. (Rt 106) and Forbes Blvd.

The victim’s car was hit by the suspect vehicle, which then fled the scene continuing eastbound on Chauncy St.

The Mansfield Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the operator of the victim’s vehicle to a nearby hospital.

Police have identified the suspect vehicle as a blue 2020 Honda Civic hatchback with Massachusetts registration 2TPE83, based on debris from the crash site.

The suspect’s car is expected to have significant damage to the front and front passenger side.

Authorities are urging anyone who spots the vehicle to immediately call 911 and report the sighting as the car involved in the Mansfield hit-and-run.

Officer Greg Martell is leading the investigation and is asking for witnesses or anyone with information about the crash or the fleeing vehicle to contact him at 508-261-7300 ext. 61335.
