Brandon man arrested on DUI, negligent operation charges in Ferrisburgh

FERRISBURGH — A 62-year-old Brandon man was arrested late Wednesday night on suspicion of driving under the influence and other motor vehicle violations.

Vermont State Police said they pulled over Daniel E. Field after clocking his vehicle at 81 mph in a 50 mph zone on US Route 7 near Round Barn Road.

During the traffic stop, which occurred just after 11 p.m., troopers noted signs of impairment.

Field underwent a field sobriety test and was taken into custody on charges of DUI, negligent operation, and excessive speed.

He was processed at the Middlebury Police Department and released with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.

The Middlebury Police Department assisted state troopers in the incident.
