Hingham businesses evacuated after bomb threat, reopen with no devices found

HINGHAM — A bomb threat on Christmas Eve led to the evacuation of Marshalls and several neighboring businesses in Lincoln Plaza, authorities said.

The Hingham Police Department reported that the threat was called into Marshalls at 400 Lincoln St. at 2:55 p.m. Sunday.

The store, along with four adjacent businesses, was swiftly evacuated as a precaution.

Police and fire officials, accompanied by a K9 unit from the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Unit, conducted a thorough search of the specified area within the store.

After no explosive devices were discovered, the affected businesses were declared safe and allowed to reopen at 4:09 p.m.

The incident is actively under investigation.
