NEWPORT — A vehicle attempting to illegally enter the U.S. was stopped in its tracks in a residential neighborhood near Newport earlier this month.
The vehicle, which tried to bypass border controls by driving through backyards, became stuck on a stone block, effectively halting its illicit journey.
Newport Border Patrol Agents quickly responded to the scene and apprehended the occupants of the vehicle.
The incident highlights the ongoing efforts of local border patrol agents in safeguarding local borders and preventing illegal entry.
The identities of the occupants and further details about the incident have not been disclosed.
The situation is under investigation, and more information may be released as the case progresses.
The information was released by the Swanton Sector of the United States Border Patrol yesterday, but the incident took place on December 2.
