Man critically injured in Tunbridge shooting, investigation underway

TUNBRIDGE — A man suffered critical injuries in a shooting incident in Tunbridge today.

The Vermont State Police are actively investigating the event, which occurred early in the morning at a residence on Button Hill Road.

Responding to a call just after 6 a.m., first responders found the victim and provided immediate aid. The injured man was then transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Detectives have interviewed the individual responsible for the shooting, and the investigation is progressing.

Authorities have reassured the public that this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to community safety.

This case is being handled by the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Field Force Division, Crime Scene Search Team, Royalton Police Department, and Victim Services Unit.
