ST. JOHNSBURY — An inmate at the Northeast Regional Correctional Center has been charged with three counts of assault on correctional officers after two separate incidents involving bodily fluids.

Authorities reported that on Dec. 13, Logan P. Chamberlin, 23, from Northfield, urinated into a container and subsequently threw the urine onto two different correctional officers.

The following day, Chamberlin allegedly spit in the face of a third correctional officer in a separate incident.

Chamberlin has been cited to appear in Caledonia County Court on Jan. 29 to face the charges.

The correctional officers involved in the incidents have not been named, and further details on their condition were not immediately available.

This case underscores the risks correctional officers face and the challenges of managing inmate behavior in correctional facilities.
