Fairfield library vandalized, police seek information

FAIRFIELD — At approximately 1:24 p.m. on Dec. 19, the Vermont State Police were alerted to an act of vandalism at the Bent Northrop Memorial Library.

An employee of the library reported to the state police that upon arriving at the Park Street location, they noticed damage to the building’s exterior.

The unlawful mischief occurred sometime during the previous night leading into the early morning hours.

Authorities have not identified any suspects at this time and are asking the community for assistance.

Individuals with knowledge of the incident or those who may have witnessed suspicious activity near the library are urged to contact the Vermont State Police – St. Albans Barracks at 802-524-5993.

The Vermont State Police are committed to finding those responsible and are seeking the public’s help to preserve the integrity of local landmarks such as the Bent Northrop Memorial Library.
