St. Albans man in critical condition after early morning shooting

ST. ALBANS — An early morning shooting at a Lake Street apartment on Dec. 13 left a 23-year-old man in critical condition, according to St. Albans Police Department officials.

Authorities said they received a call at approximately 4:04 a.m. about a shooting incident within an apartment at 100 Lake Street.

Upon arrival, officers found Quinton Lockett-Simmonds, of Springfield, Massachusetts, with gunshot wounds.

He was immediately transported to Northwestern Medical Center and later to the University of Vermont Medical Center for further treatment.

The St. Albans Police described the event as an isolated incident and reported that the suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived.

As Lockett-Simmonds remains in critical condition, the investigation into the shooting continues.

Officials have not released any additional information regarding the suspect or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
