Shaftsbury man arrested for DUI at Arlington shop

ARLINGTON — Vermont State Police arrested a 65-year-old man on suspicion of driving under the influence after he was found slumped over the wheel at a local store.

Troopers from the Shaftsbury Barracks, alongside the Arlington Rescue Squad, responded to a call at the Stewart’s Shop on Dec. 12 at approximately 5:16 p.m.

They discovered Glenn C. Van Orman of Shaftsbury unresponsive in his vehicle.

After making contact with Van Orman, troopers noticed several signs of impairment.

He was arrested and taken to the Shaftsbury Barracks for processing.

Van Orman was later released with a citation and is scheduled to appear at the Bennington County Superior Court – Criminal Division to respond to the DUI charge.
