Colchester man faces DUI charge after speeding on I-89

WILLISTON — A Colchester man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after being stopped for speeding on Interstate 89, Vermont State Police said.

Jared Burlingame, 26, was pulled over at about 9:46 p.m. Friday after a trooper observed his vehicle traveling 94 mph in a 65 mph zone near Exit 12, authorities said.

Upon interaction, troopers noted signs of impairment.

Burlingame was taken into custody and processed at the Williston Barracks.

He was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on Dec. 28 at 8:15 a.m. for the DUI charge.

Additionally, Burlingame received a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for the speeding offense, which carries a waiver fee of $314 and adds two points to his driving record, according to police.
