Mansfield smoke shop burglary results in over $20,000 in losses

MANSFIELD — Just after 1 a.m. on Monday, Mansfield Police Department officers were called to Brothers Smoke Shop on Pratt Street following reports of a break-in at the local business.

Upon their arrival, law enforcement found cigarette packs and other merchandise scattered on the street and discovered the front door window shattered.

The department’s K9 unit, including Ronan and his handler Officer Fitzgerald, were dispatched to track the potential culprits.

Mansfield detectives arrived at the scene to begin their investigation.

Surveillance footage obtained from the store employees revealed up to nine individuals forcibly entering the shop and stealing goods.

The owners have reported the theft has resulted in losses exceeding $20,000.

Authorities have released images from the surveillance video showing three of the suspects involved in the crime.

The Mansfield Police Department is urging anyone with additional information, recognition of the individuals, or who may have been in the vicinity early Monday morning and witnessed the event, to reach out to Detective Anthony Lattanzio.
