Newport man arrested for violating curfew conditions

DERBY — Vermont State Police arrested a Newport man Thursday night for violating his court-ordered curfew.

Authorities were called to a Derby Line residence around 9:09 p.m. after reports of an unwanted male on the premises.

Upon arrival, police identified the individual as 47-year-old Paul Therrien, who was found to be in violation of his release conditions that include a 24-hour curfew.

Therrien was taken to the Derby barracks for processing and subsequently released with a citation to appear in court to face charges for the violation of his release conditions.

The Vermont State Police did not release any information regarding the victims involved, adhering to policies against disclosing identities in cases of sexual assault or domestic violence.

The date for Therrien’s court appearance has not been disclosed.
