Shoreham man arrested for multiple court order violations, firearm possession

SHOREHAM — Vermont State Police arrested a local man Sunday night on charges that he violated court-ordered conditions and was illegally in possession of a firearm.

Christopher Stearns, 44, of Shoreham, was taken into custody after police responded to reports that he had breached the terms of his Conditions of Release and a Relief from Abuse order.

During the encounter, officers confirmed that Stearns also possessed a firearm, despite being prohibited from doing so.

Following his arrest, Stearns was processed at the New Haven State Police Barracks.

He was later transported to Marble Valley Correctional Center, where he is being held on $5,000 bail.

Stearns is scheduled to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division, on Nov. 20 to face the charges.
