Derry man indicted in uncle’s shooting death at local restaurant

DERRY — John Kratz, 28, has been indicted by the Rockingham County Grand Jury for the May 17 shooting death of his uncle, John Kratz, Jr., 64.

The indictment includes one count of second-degree murder for the intentional killing of Mr. Kratz, Jr. by shooting him in the head, as well as an alternative count reflecting extreme indifference to human life in the commission of the same act.

John Kratz remains in custody without bail.

His arraignment is scheduled to take place at Rockingham Superior Court on a date yet to be announced.

As the case proceeds, it is important to note that the charges against Kratz are accusations.

He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
