LYNDON –– Vermont State Police from the St. Johnsbury Barracks apprehended 76-year-old Lee Lavoie of Lyndon, Vermont, on I-91 North near mile marker 139 today.

The arrest followed a traffic stop initiated after troopers observed a vehicle being driven erratically and at significantly low speeds, creating a traffic hazard.

The vehicle, driven by Lavoie, was failing to maintain its lane and exhibited fluctuating speeds.

Upon contact, troopers noted several signs of impairment in Lavoie. Further investigation revealed that Lavoie had a criminally suspended license and an active warrant for DUI #3 and Operating on a Criminally Suspended License.

Field sobriety tests conducted at the scene indicated that Lavoie was under the influence of alcohol.

He has been cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on three separate dates — November 20, December 4, and December 18, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. — to face charges including DUI #3, Negligent Operation, and Driving with a License Suspended (DLS).
