Middlesex resident charged with petit larceny at local restaurant

MIDDLESEX –– A 33-year-old Middlesex resident, Jamie Renfrew, was charged with petit larceny for allegedly stealing money and a wallet from The Filling Station, a local restaurant, authorities said.

Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to a report of a suspicious person at 960 US Rt 2 at 11:34 a.m., Oct. 30.

Upon arrival, they located Renfrew.

Initially, there were no reported crimes, but restaurant employees later discovered cash missing from the register and a wallet belonging to an employee was stolen.

After a detailed investigation, troopers determined that Renfrew was responsible for the theft.

Renfrew was subsequently issued a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in Washington County Court, Criminal Division.

The court date has not been publicly disclosed.
