DERRY –– A fatal motor vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 93 southbound in Derry on November 1, claiming one life and leaving authorities in search of witnesses.
The New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks responded to the scene at approximately 6:13 p.m., according to a news release.
Investigations at the scene revealed that a tractor-trailer unit rear-ended a 2009 Lexus ES350 Sedan.
The driver of the tractor-trailer has been identified as 26-year-old Luciano Miguel Garone of Stallings, North Carolina.
The driver of the Lexus ES350 was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained from the crash.
The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene at the request of the Troop B Barracks and has taken the lead in the ongoing investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Trooper Eric Torrens at (603) 545-4396 as all aspects of the crash remain under investigation.
