Gates at Rochester home damaged, theft reported

ROCHESTER — Police are investigating a vandalism incident that took place in Rochester on Friday.

Authorities say they were notified of a vandalism complaint at a home on Perkins Brook Road at around 12:00 p.m.

Caretaker, Pamela Mitchell, 59, of Chelsea, reported that two gates which secured the property were taken down and damaged in the process.

Police say Mitchell last observed the property undisturbed at some point last week.

Both gates secure separate sides of the property leading to the home, and the overall repair and worth of the gates to be approximately $4,500.

Police say forced entry was believed to be made based on the direction of which the gates were laying as well as other observations.
