Single-car crash traps driver in Thornton

THORNTON –– Emergency crews rescued a motorist trapped inside an overturned car on Mill Brook Road on Thursday, October 26, at around 1:45 p.m.

Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue and Thornton New Hampshire Police Department responded to the incident after New Hampshire 911 and Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid dispatchers received a distress call.

The caller reported that a vehicle had veered off the road and flipped on its side near 418 Mill Brook Road, trapping the driver inside.

Upon arrival, the rescue team found a single patient inside the unstable vehicle.

They promptly stabilized the vehicle using struts and assisted the trapped motorist, who reportedly might have sustained a leg injury.

The patient was assessed by the EMS at the scene but declined ambulance transport.

The individual was subsequently released at the crash site.

After the rescue operation, the crews remained on the scene to oversee the removal of the vehicle.

They cleared the scene a short while later.
