St Johnsbury man accused of curfew violation, arrested on active warrant

ST. JOHNSBURY –– A local man was arrested Sunday afternoon for erratic behavior and yelling at customers near White Market, leading to the discovery of an active arrest warrant and a violation of his release conditions.

St Johnsbury police identified the man as 34-year-old Jeremy M. Bathalon of St Johnsbury.

Bathalon was acting erratically on Portland Street, near Concord Avenue, when officers were dispatched to the area around 1:06 p.m. on October 15, 2023.

According to Detective Sgt. Lester Cleary, Bathalon was wearing a blue shirt and carrying a black backpack. Police located him after a brief search of the area.

He was taken into custody without incident.

While processing Bathalon, officers learned he had active conditions of release, which included a daily curfew from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Bathalon’s behavior and arrest occurred during his curfew hours, constituting a violation of his release conditions.

Bathalon was held on the warrant for lack of $200 bail and has been cited to appear in court on November 13, 2023, to answer to the charge of Violation of Conditions of Release-Curfew.
